This is a beautiful park with 3 different camping / RV areas. One of them has full hook ups. Lots to do for all types of outdoor activities. The Rangers and very helpful and can steer you in the right direction for what ever you want to do. My 3 star rating is based on the cost to camp/RV there. It is fairly expensive for a State Park.

Quality of the park seems to be declining, specifically the Cherokee area. Several of the RV spots were very rough. Fire pits were full of ash and debris, parking spots were rutted. Tent camping is allowed on RV spots, but its impossible to tell which specific spot, if any the tent campers are using. Memorial weekend we had tents all around us even though we were the last on the row. There is only one operational Bath house and 2 of 4 shower stalls were out of order. A single bathroom stall for all those tent campers made for some difficulty. Showers require quarters and of course the change machine was also out of order, has been every time we visited. However, Chickasaw area had some new RV sites and playground that looked really nice.

Absolutely beautiful view of the lake from Paradise cove! Only complaint was the bathrooms were filled with brown recluses and wasps. The next day a worker "cleaned" them by removing the wasp nests (but leaving the angry wasps) and missing the dirty floor. Gorgeous area, will have to find another place to camp though

Awesome State Park! Excellent amenities, decent cabins and lodgings! Kept incredibly clean and litter free! Fantastic camping grounds with grills and restrooms. I've been coming to this place since the 1970's and I still LOVE it as much now as I did as a kid! Nice golf course too and if you want to go on a horse, you can do that as part of a guided tour!

Great park. Large. Paved walking / running / biking trails. Several unpaved hiking trails. Cabins. Lodge. Restaurant. Golf course. RV camping. Primitive camping. There is so much to offer here. I've lived in Northeast Oklahoma for all of my life, and didn't know this great state park was here.
