Big Dawg’s Crawfish Festival

Big Dawg’s Crawfish Festival
4000-4258 Border Avenue

Russell "Big Dawg" Sain attended the number ONE party school in the early 80s the GREAT UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA whose mascot is UGA the Bulldog.  Russell earned the nickname “Big Dawg” on the BBQ circuit in Georgia where he eventually became a certified Kansas City BBQ judge.   Big Dawg has been enjoying crawfish boils in and around Monroe Louisiana for decades.

Curtis Sain, Russell's first cousin, has been cooking crawfish in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma for decades. Curtis has cooked alongside some of the best crawfish chefs in Louisiana. The best of the best were usually grizzled old Cajun men with no teeth who spoke a language only people from Louisiana can understand. Curtis has taken everything he learned from these revered Crawfish Gurus, added his own special twist, and today produces the most amazing crawfish you will probably ever eat.

Our group has wanted to bring a crawfish festival to Oklahoma for a long time. We have traveled to many different crawfish festivals from Mobile, Alabama and Beaux Bridge, Louisiana, to Yukon Oklahoma and many places in between researching what makes an exceptional Crawfish Festival.
